Located immediately south of Seattle, Burien is a creative and diverse community with room for the arts. Our city’s support of the arts is legendary. Just ask Dr. Anthony Spain, Music Director for the Northwest Symphony Orchestra. “Burien is attractive for artists because it’s growing, developing its identity and there is space for the arts to be a part of creating that identity. We saw that potential and the Orchestra has thrived,” he said.

The 800-seat Highline Performing Arts Center (PAC) in Burien is home to Northwest Symphony Orchestra and is available for other performing arts groups to use. It is ideal for arts organizations that would like to grow their audience in the Seattle region, without the expense of operating a permanent facility. Office, studio, and practice space near the PAC are affordable (our lease rates are a fraction of what they cost in Seattle) and accessible for people in Seattle and the South Sound region. “Non-profit arts organizations have to keep a close eye on the bottom line. In Burien, your dollars stretch further which allows organizations to focus on what they really care about - teaching, creating, and sharing art with the larger community,” said Chris Craig, Economic Development Director for the City of Burien.
