Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is the 9th busiest airport in the United States and Burien is 5 minutes from the airport. Connected via 518 (a local freeway), airport passengers can hop on a shuttle and reach Burien’s walkable downtown within minutes. Burien has one of the most walkable downtowns in the region, making this an excellent place to stay when visiting the Pacific Northwest, or for a layover. Burien is also 15 minutes from Seattle and popular attractions like Pike Place Market. What we need is a hotel to support increased tourism demand.

Hotel Development Sites in Burien

The City Council has prioritized the development of a hotel in Burien and will work with interested developers to find a property and incentives to support the project. The city’s Opportunity Zones also include parcels that could be used for hotel development, while offering tax incentives.

"Burien can easily be described as the Pacific Northwest’s quintessential hidden gem. With nearby cities welcoming more than 4 million visitors each year that generate $363 million in travel spending, Burien is on the verge of becoming the next must-see destination."
